We’re kicking off a week of bilingual fun with DIA (Diversity In Action), a fun twist on the Mexican holiday Dia de los Ninos, which falls on April 30.
The celebration is Dia de los Ninos/Dia de los Libros. It’s a celebration of kids and books and reading, and it’s 25 years old today!
Our pre-pandemic Spanish Bilingual Storytime presenter Miss Virginia gets us started with a reading of a fun new book in English and Spanish by an award-winning author/illustrator.Â
If you like octopuses, storytelling, and big Puerto Rican families, you’re going to love this book! (But shhhhh, we can’t tell you what it here here because of copyright restrictions, so go take a peek at the video before May 30. You’ll thank us later!)Â
Then bop on over to Holiday House to find more information about the author, as well as a downloadable page of family activities.Â
More books! More fun! More DIA!
Author Pat Mora, the founder of DIA, also shares an online reading of Book Fiesta. We’re so glad we can share it with you here:
