10 p.m. Jan. 3 update: Missing girls, “Lulu” and “Lily”, were found safe in Las Animas County, Colo., at approximately 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. Terry Allen Miles was taken into custody. Miles is a person of interest in the homicide of Tonya Bates, 44.
A Las Animas sherrif’s deputy, acting on a tip, conducted a high-risk traffic stop on the car Miles was driving, Banks said. Miles was taken into custody without incident.
Multi-state Amber Alerts had been issued to attempt to locate the Round Rock sisters and Miles. Banks said the apprehension of Miles is “a prime example of the system working.” Miles was driving the car that had been featured in the Amber Alerts.
“I’d like to say thank you to that tipster,” Banks said.

Round Rock Police are looking for two missing juveniles. Both are associated with a person of interest in the suspicious death investigation of Tonya Bates, 44. On Dec. 31, officers responded to a welfare concern at a residence on 2600 block of Leslie Court, made entry, and found Bates deceased inside the home.
Luluvioletta “Lulu” Bandera-Magret is a 7-year-old white female, approximately 4 feet, 5 inches tall and 75 pounds with very curly brown hair. Lilianais “Lily” Griffith is a 14-year-old white female, approximately 5 feet tall and 100 pounds with dirty blonde hair, braces, and a nose stud in her right nostril.
Terry Allen Miles is a person of interest associated with the suspicious death. The 44-year-old white male is 6 feet, 2 inches, 200 pounds, wears glasses and possibly has a beard. Miles might be in route to Louisiana in a grey 2017 Hyundai Accent with Texas license plate number JGH9845. The vehicle has a hatchback with a white sticker on the upper right hand corner of the rear window. If located, do not approach. Call 911.
Anyone with information about the missing girls should call Round Rock Police at 512-218-5515. The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued an Amber Alert for the missing children.
