The City of Round Rock Parks & Recreation Department was awarded the Lone Star Class Two Awards from the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) for their Yonders Point “Friday Fun Nights” series of events and the Department Marketing Excellence Award. Additionally, Kelly Gaydos, Allen R. Baca Center Supervisor was awarded the Young Professional Award.
The “Lone Star” award is presented for the best, new, first-time recreation programs in five population categories.
Department Marketing Excellence Award honors the most outstanding promotional efforts of park, recreation and leisure agency for the previous year.
The Young Professional Award recognizes one outstanding young professional in the field of Parks and Recreation who is committed to advancing the industry through leadership, work accomplishments and volunteerism.
The department accepted the awards at the Texas Recreation & Park Society’s annual Central Region Workshop and Maintenance Rodeo. Every year TRAPS recognizes excellence across the state of Texas.
