Celebrate local authors at the Round Rock Public Library’s Local Author Meet and Greet, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 22nd, on the first and second floors. Come and meet local authors Ara Ade-Ajayi, Connie Elsberry, Chris Gebert, Thomas Goodman, Elroy Haverlah, Stephen Meserve, Jessica Thompson, and Ashley Wall. They will have copies of their books for sale with 10% of the sales going to help support The Friends of the Round Rock Library.
Children’s Authors will have the opportunity to read an excerpt from one of their books at the end of Family Storytime, which takes place from 11 to 11:30 a.m., in the Second Floor Program Space.
Author Spotlight

Ara Ade-Ajayi
Ara Ade-Ajayi is an 11-year-old author from Austin, TX. She loves reading, math, and bringing stories to life through writing. When she’s not creating, she enjoys time with family and friends. Ara is thrilled to share her first children’s book with you and hopes you love it as much as she loved writing it!

Connie Elsberry
Connie Elsberry is an Energy Educator who writes stories to generate a love of learning. Texas Tales for Living Well is a series of books that teach morals. As a lover of nature and all its creatures, Connie’s stories give readers and their families an opportunity to venture into Texas and bring out the best in character and matters of the heart.

Chris Gebert
Chris Gebert creates illustrated children’s books that communicate the truth of Jesus’s unconditional love for families. Her YOU ARE MORE Christian Children’s Book series emphasizes that God gives us his identity and purpose as his dearly loved children.

Thomas Goodman
Thomas Goodman first ran across the story behind his debut novel when he lived in the small Texas county where the Santa Claus Bank Robbery and its twisty aftermath took place. For the last twenty-two years, he’s lived in north Austin, where he has been able to conduct extensive research on the true crime at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. He and his wife, Diane, have been married for 45 years and they have two adults sons.

Elroy Haverlah
Elroy Haverlah, a native Texan, moved to Round Rock with his wife and two children in 1989. He served as pastor of Palm Valley Lutheran Church for almost 20 years. In his retirement he has enjoyed researching this area’s history and hopes that through his novels, others in the community will also grow in their awareness of our heritage and appreciation for the sacrifices that our ancestors made which we benefit from today.

Stephen Meserve
Stephen Meserve is the founder and editor of 100 Degree Hockey, which covers the AHL’s Texas Stars, and has been a credentialed media member since 2010. He has covered hundreds of AHL games, contributed feature-length work to the AHL, NHL, The Hockey News and other publications, and been a featured color commentator and guest analyst on SiriusXM and other live play-by-play broadcasts. His 2023 book, We Win Here: The Definitive Essays You Need About The Texas Stars, was co-authored with NHL national writer and former Stars beat writer Sean Shapiro. Stephen lives in Brushy Creek with his wife and two children, who positively adore the Round Rock Public Library.


Jessica Thompson
When Jessica Thompson discovered mystery novels with recipes, she knew she had found her niche. Now Jessica is the award-winning author of best-selling cozy and classic mysteries. She is active in her local writing community and volunteers as the Finance Chair of the Storymakers Guild. Jessica lives outside Austin, Texas with her husband and two children, plus her parents and their nearby cattle ranch.
Ashley Wall
Ashley Wall, M.Ed., is an award-winning author of The Day I Had series, a former teacher, and a mom of two. With a big imagination and a passion for education, Ashley inspires kids to believe in themselves and follow their dreams.
