Round Rock Library accepting applications to Business Plan Competition

Ready to start kickstart your dream into reality? The Round Rock Public Library is now accepting submissions to the recently announced Biz.ability Business Plan Competition

Targeted to Round Rock-based startup entrepreneurs, the competition features a prize package worth more than $13,500 thanks to program partnerships with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and Dell Technologies.  

The grand prize winner will receive $7,500, a Dell computer system valued at $2,500 and consultation with a Dell Technology expert. The runner-up in the competition will receive $3,500. 

As part of the competition, the Round Rock Public Library is tailoring its small business workshop program Biz.ability to focus on guiding entrepreneurs through the process of creating a viable business plan. The library also offers a variety of research tools specifically geared to assist small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs answer vital questions related to competition, purchasing behavior and more. 

Entrants must be Round Rock residents, submit a plan for a startup business set to be located within the city limits of Round Rock and meet with a Round Rock librarian and Austin SCORE mentor at least once prior to March 15, 2022. 

The deadline for submission of business plans is 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2022. 

Upon submission, plans will be reviewed for technical accuracy and adherence to contest requirements, community impact and viability of the proposed business model.  

The final six individuals or teams will present their business plans to a panel of judges, and prize money will be awarded to the top two entrants.
