The Little Mermaid!

Following the original tale written by Hans Christian Andersen, Metamorphosis Dance presents an original ballet, “The Little Mermaid”. The  young mermaid princess longs to leave her underwater kingdom and experience life on land. When she saves a human prince from drowning, she becomes infatuated with him and makes a dangerous deal with the sea witch to trade her voice for human legs. Though she gains the ability to walk and live among humans, she endures great pain with each step and must win the prince’s love to secure her place in the human world. Ultimately, the prince marries another, and the little mermaid faces a tragic choice: return to the sea as a mermaid or sacrifice herself for her beloved’s happiness. Her selfless act earns her a place among the spirit of the air, offering her a chance to earn a soul through good deeds.
