Good Water Master Naturalists: Bats: Why We Can’t Live Without Them

October 11, 2025 @ 2:00 pm 3:00 pm

The Round Rock Public Library and the Good Water Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program present Bats: Why We Can’t Live Without Them from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, October 11, Round Rock Public Library, Meeting Room A+B.

Bats are often considered spooky, scary, or dangerous–and sometimes all three at once. But they’re a vital part of our natural world, and we’d notice if they disappeared. Join Christie Gardner to learn all about bats, and especially why we can’t live without them.

About the presenter

Christie Gardner is a retired elementary school teacher with a passion for bats and bluebirds. She has been a Master Naturalist in the Good Water Chapter in Williamson County for over 10 years. She has been a member of Bat Conservation International for over 30 years. She was trained by BCI as a bat interpreter and talked to crowds at Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin and at McNeil Bridge in Round Rock for many years. She once turned her 3rd grade classroom into a bat cave!
