Construction is set to begin on a project that will add capacity and improve mobility along North Red Bud Lane from Highway 79 to County Road 117.
Starting Thursday, March 6, the initial phase of construction will reduce the roadway to one lane as crews install new waterline crossings. The lane closure will take place on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the end of March. A flagging operation will manage traffic flow, but drivers should expect delays.
Once completed, the project will expand the existing two-lane roadway to a new four-lane divided and will include intersection, curb and gutter and pedestrian improvements.
Public feedback on the project was gathered at two public meetings held in 2020. Open house summaries, including exhibits and public comments, can be viewed on the project’s webpage at roundrocktexas.gov/transportprojects/red-bud-lane-north-us-79-to-cr-117/.
Overall construction is expected to last a total of two years. The project cost is $26.8 million.
