The City of Round Rock is currently assessing damage and assisting affected residents following severe weather early Monday evening.
How to Help • The Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) is coordinating efforts to help affected residents. For more information, visit adrn.org. • The City of Round Rock is currently accepting donated items at the Dell Diamond Heritage Center (3400 E. Palm Valley Blvd.). • At this time, crews are still cleaning roadways to allow for safe passage. Debris in roadways and structural damage to multiple homes and businesses has been sighted along the path of tornados. Crews are concentrated in areas along Highway 79, Gattis School Road and Greenlawn Boulevard. Due to damage sustained in the storm, the City of Round Rock’s Clay Madsen Recreation Center is closed until further notice.
The City advises residents to stay out of areas with damage as public safety and transportation crews continue to assess the situation.
Two temporary shelter locations have been set up at Dell Diamond Heritage Center (3400 E. Palm Valley Blvd.) and Redbud Elementary School (1500 Ty Cobb Place).
Multiple power outages have been reported throughout the City. Outages can be reported to Oncor by calling 888-313-4747, texting OUT to 66267 or via stormcenter.oncor.com. Do not approach downed power lines. If you encounter an intersection without power, treat it as a four-way stop, and then proceed with caution.
The City’s Transportation crews are prioritizing removing brush and limbs that have fallen into roadways, and will only remove debris in City right-of-way. Limbs that are blocking roads or sidewalks can be reported by calling 512-688-0398. Any fallen trees on private property are the responsibility of the property owner.
If you smell natural gas, leave the area immediately and from a safe distance, call 911 and the Atmos Energy emergency number at 866-322-8667.
Agencies responding to the damage include Round Rock Police Department, Round Rock Fire Department, Williamson County EMS, Round Rock ISD Police Department, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Public Safety and Austin Police Department.
No fatalities or major injuries have been reported at this time.
