The City of Round Rock invites the community to celebrate Mother’s Day and enjoy a variety of activities including performances by student mariachi groups. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Centennial Plaza in Round Rock.
Students from the Round Rock Independent School District will be leading the musical performances, including the Stony Point High School mariachi group who will be singing “Las Mañanitas,” the Gattis Elementary School choir, and the Hernandez and Hopewell Middle School mariachi groups. Texas State mariachi group, the Round Rock Ballet Folklorico, and the Round Rock Symphony are also scheduled to perform.
Other activities include: arts and crafts for kids, a chance to take pictures with mom, and free carnations for mothers.
The Celebration is hosted by the Williamson County Hispanic Heritage Committee and sponsored by Univision 62 Austin and the City of Round Rock. The event promises to be full of music and fun for the entire family.
