The I-35 Capital Area Improvement Program will host an open house to discuss proposed concepts for improving I-35 from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 at the Travis County Community Center in Pflugerville.
About the open house
The City of Austin and the Texas Department of Transportation are partnering with other transportation agencies and the public to identify short- and mid-term strategies to improve I-35 through the metropolitan area.
This round of open houses will focus primarily on I-35 between SH 45 N and SH 45 SE. It will consider overarching concepts for improving I-35 such as a future transportation corridor, ramp and auxiliary lane improvements, collector-distributor roads, a super street concept, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, and improved east-west connectivity.
There will also be information on possible intersection improvement concepts for Wells Branch, Howard Lane, Parmer Lane, St. Johns Avenue, 51st Street, Airport Boulevard, Martin Luther King Boulevard., 11th/12th Streets, 4th Street through 8th Street, Cesar Chavez, Riverside Drive/Woodland Avenue, Oltorf Street, Stassney Lane, William Cannon Drive, Slaughter Lane, and Slaughter Creek Overpass.
