The Round Rock Public Library is pleased to present the work of Bill Buckler in its gallery during the month of November. Meet Buckler at a reception from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6.
Buckler earned his bachelor's degree in art from Eastern Kentucky University. Over the years, he has worked with a wide variety of mediums: oils, acrylics, charcoal, wood cut, lithography, pottery, and clay.
Speaking of his more recent work Buckler said, "In 1997, I learned that a friend of mine was a wood carver and expressed an interest in learning to hone my skills in this medium. He invited me to attend the meeting of a local wood carving club. After honing my carving skills for a couple of years, I took on the daunting task of carving my own carousel horse. I called it the “Horse of Joy” because of the joy I received while carving it and the joy it brought to my life once completed."
His works will be on display at the Library from Nov. 1 through Dec. 1.
