The Round Rock Public Library is happy to present the Central Texas SPCA’s Humane Education Program. The Humane Education Program teaches boys and girls between 8 and 12 years old about pet overpopulation issues and responsible pet ownership through interaction with friendly dogs from the Central Texas SPCA.

As part of the program, students learn computer skills by using Microsoft Word to write a recommendation for the animals they meet, Microsoft Excel to create a budget, and PowerPoint to create a presentation on what they've learned. They receive help with the software, grammar and punctuation.

The first session from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 18, covers how to help at the animal shelter. Students will read Buddy Unchained and write a recommendation in Microsoft Word for the featured dog or puppy.  They will also create a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation to educate others about shelter animals, responsible pet ownership, and pet overpopulation. 

Pre-registration is required. Participants must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up at the Children’s Desk.
