The 2007 Fall Food Drive, benefitting the Round Rock Area Serving Center, will be held Nov. 10. Neighborhood associations, businesses, churches and other organizations throughout the area will be conducting food drives. The Serving Center is at 1099 E. Main Street.
The Round Rock Area Serving Center, a Texas non-profit corporation, is a food pantry and provides assistance to low-income and indigent people who are in crisis. Services include food, clothing and furniture vouchers, and financial assistance for rent, utilities, temporary shelter, transportation, and prescriptions. Additional programs include Round Rock Coats for Kids, computer skills training, Computers for Kids, and community gardens. The Serving Center operates two thrift stores that are open to the public called Treasures.
