Dig Into Reading at the Round Rock Public LibraryCopyright restrictions prevent us from telling you the name of the each week's movie on our website, but most of them have a connection to our Summer Reading Program theme, "Dig Into Reading." Here are some hints:

  • June 7: A tiny family lives under the floors in a house full of "human beans" in a movie loosely based on a book by Mary Norton. Rated PG.
  • June 14: Famous holiday figures band together to protect children in this recent animated film based on a book series by William Joyce. Rated PG.
  • June 21: A boy begins an eating adventure when he stands up to bullies in this adaptation of a book by Thomas Rockwell. Rated PG.
  • July 5: A boy and his unusual companions travel the world in an enormous piece of fruit in this movie based on a book by Roald Dahl. Rated PG.
  • July 10 (Wednesday): Ants help a boy learn lessons in kindness in this animated movie based on a book by John Nickle. Rated PG.
  • July 17 (Wednesday): Explorers venture deep inside the earth in this film that picks up the story where Jules Verne's famous book left off. Rated PG.
  • July 26: Readers are caught up in a fantasy world and an extraordinary story in this adaptation of a novel by Micheal Ende. Rated PG.
  • August 2: We've been celebrating gardens and gnomes all summer, so what better way to end the series than with this romantic adventure about star-crossed lawn art? This animated film may remind you of a play by William Shakespeare. Rated PG.
