The Round Rock Public Library hosts a Classic Film Night program this month at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9.
Join us once a month for a screening of a classic film and popcorn.
Tonight's presentation is a 1952 Academy Award winning film set in the Old West.
Summary: Gary Hadleyville marshal, Will Kane, is about to retire from office and go on his honeymoon with his new Quaker bride, Amy. His plans are interrupted when the Miller gang, whose leader Will had arrested, is coming back into town on the noon train.
Despite Amy’s protests, Will feels he must stay and defend Hadleyville but no one in the town will help him. As the clock edges towards the climax Kane walks to the center of town preparing for a showdown.
Not rated. (85 min.)
One of the most interesting aspects is that the film is shot in real time.
