Getting to the Heart of Diabetes and Health

The Seton Diabetes Education Center presents Getting to the Heart of Diabetes and Health beginning at 6:30 Wednesday, Feb. 23, as part of its Ask the Cardiologist series.

Persons with diabetes are at a 2- to 4- fold increased risk to develop cardiovascular disease. Join Dr Mary Beth Cishek, cardiologist with Seton Heart Institute and Medical Director at Seton Heart Specialty Care & Transplant Center at Seton Medical Center Austin, to learn:

  • Why theses complications occur at increased frequency.
  • What you can do to reduce your risks if you have diabetes or pre-diabetes.
  • Medical interventions available to you if you are diagnosed with heart disease.
