The City of Round Rock will hold a public meeting from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 28, at the McConico Building Community Room, 301 W. Bagdad Ave., to present the proposed update to its Comprehensive Transportation Master Plan. During this meeting, the public will have a chance to ask questions and comment on the draft plan (PDF).
To identify Round Rock’s long term needs, the City of Round Rock adopted its first Transportation Master Plan in 1999. The plan has been updated several times since then, most recently in 2007, to take into consideration changes in development and population.
The current proposed update is designed to ensure that Round Rock citizens have an adequate future transportation system; that the dedicated ½ cent sales tax for transportation is used efficiently; and that any deficiencies in the existing transportation system are identified.
Citizen participation is an important part of the planning process. This proposed update to the Comprehensive Transportation Master Plan includes a short-term (2015), long-term (2035), and an ultimate transportation network to meet the needs of the Round Rock community.
For more information on the public meeting or the Comprehensive Transportation Master Plan, the public should contact John Dean, Transportation Planner, 218-5562.
Public comments on the plan are being accepted through July 2, 2010, via email or regular mail to City of Round Rock, Transportation Master Plan Update, 212 Commerce, Round Rock, TX 78664.
