The Round Rock Area Arts Council will celebrate the grand opening of its new community art gallery adjacent to the Round Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau, which recently relocated to Main Street. Both will celebrate with an open house and ribbon-cutting from 7 to 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13 on Main Street between Lampasas and Sheppard.
“With these additions, we’ll attract many more visitors to Downtown Round Rock, who can visit the art gallery and the CVB, enjoy the green space and take a quick walk to any of our restaurants on Main Street,” said Kris Whitfield, a City Councilmember and Vice President of the Arts Council.
The ARTSPACE at 231 E. Main, Ste. 160, will showcase works by Vicki Brevell, the signature artist for the Art Council’s 2010 Imagine event. The work of other artists will be featured on a rotating basis.
“Vicki’s signature piece is extremely colorful and will catch the eye of everyone strolling downtown. We believe the community will appreciate her imagination and come back each month to see what’s new,” said Arts Council President Cathy Kincaid.
Ribbon cuttings will be at 10 a.m. for the CVB and 10:15 a.m. for the ARTSPACE.
ARTSPACE hours will be: Thursdays: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday through Sunday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
