The Round Rock Public Library presents a special screening of the feature-length special Isaac's Storm based on Erik Larson's book from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.
Before the film, special guest Troy Kimmel will discuss severe weather in Texas.
Kimmel is the Chief Meteorologist for KEYE Television (CBS) as well as for KVET/KASE/KFMK Radio in Austin. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He is also a lecturer in Studies in Weather and Climate in the Department of Geography at the University of Texas where he teaches undergraduate classes.
Round Rock Reads!, sponsored by the Round Rock Public Libary, is an event where the community reads the same book and then discusses it and participates in special programs tied to the theme of the book. The book selection for 2010 is Isaac's Storm, by Erik Larson, about the 1900 hurricane that inundated Galveston.
