Williamson County residents interested in gardening are invited to attend a one-hour information session on becoming a Master Gardener.

The meetings will be held at the Williamson County Extension Office, 3151 SE Inner Loop Rd in Georgetown on the following dates:

• 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 29
• 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29

Participants will receive detailed information on the Master Gardener Class of 2013, and applications will be available. All applicants for the 2013 class must attend one of these sessions before applying.

The 2013 class of the Williamson County Master Gardeners begins on Aug. 6. Classes are held each Tuesday from 1 to 5 p.m. through Nov. 12, at the Williamson County Extension Office. The class fee is $220.

About the program
The Master Gardener Program, sponsored by Williamson County Master Gardeners and the Texas AgriLIFE Extension Office, provides instruction in lawn care; ornamental trees and shrubs; insect, disease, and weed management; soils and plant nutrition, vegetable gardening; home fruit production; garden flowers; perennials and annuals; and water conservation projects.
