Getting the Project Started
A pre-construction meeting will be held with the City once the permit has been issued and prior to the start of any construction at the site. Prior to the meeting, the Development Services Office shall be provided with five (5) complete paper sets of signed plans, two (2) sets of engineered approved submittals, two (2) sets of the trench safety plan, two (2) sets of the traffic control plan, the Pre-con Request Form, the letter of transmittal, and all other documents as specified at the ASAP meeting.
Please review the project approval letter for the process steps specific to the application. The final process step may vary slightly depending on the involvement of the Inspectors for the inspection process.
Any information needed before the pre-construction meeting must be acquired from the consulting engineer and the City's review staff. Choose the link below for detailed specific duties and responsibilities of:
Design Engineer/Consulting Engineer
The consulting engineer will ensure all involved parties are in attendance at the pre-construction meeting:
Owner/Developer, Consulting Engineer, County or MUD representative (if applicable), Utility Contractor, Dry Utility Contractor, City Reviewer, and any other sub-contractors or other appropriate individuals associated with the project.
In some cases the Owner/Developer of a project is allowed to begin rough-cut or rough-cut utility work on a portion of the project through special provision. A pre-construction meeting will be held for the rough-cut or rough-cut utility and associated work but an additional pre-construction meeting will be held after a full development permit has been obtained.
