The Allen R. Baca Center hosts the Travel Club which takes day trips in and around the central Texas area, as well as overnight and extended trips. The group meets Wednesdays at 1 p.m. in April, June, September, November and January. Everyone is welcome.

Anyone participating in a day or overnight trip must complete the Bus Trip Emergency Form.

Trip Details

• Payment is due at time of sign-up. Times and events are subject to change, so check with the Baca Center.
• Reservations will start on the first business day of the newsletter month unless noted in the newsletter (i.e. Jan/Feb newsletter is Jan.; March/April newsletter is March, etc).
• Please check in with the bus driver before each trip.
• The bus will pick up and drop off at the North end of the building. Exit for the trips through the dining room glass sliding doors. If buliding is closed when a trip returns there will be no entry into the building, you must walk to the parking garage. There are two levels of parking underneath the building. For overnight and extended trips, please park on the lower level.

Overnight trips
Ready for another gambling trip? We are going to the Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma for a 2 night stay from Sunday, May 2 to Tuesday, May 4, 2010. We will stay at the Durant Resort for $79 each person, double-occupancy. We will receive $10 in slot play per day and $10 coupon per day for a meal, which totals to $60 in freebies. This is a great deal!

The casino is on a “dry” Indian reservation; therefore, they do not serve adult beverages. However, you may purchase your own beverages at a nearby store.

We will leave at 7 a.m. on Thursday morning from the back parking lot of the Baca Center. We will make one stop in Waco and arrive at the casino around noon. On Saturday, we will leave the casino at 2 p.m., stop in Waco and return by 6 p.m. to the Baca Center.

Each registrant must pay for their room by April 19. You can contact the hotel at 1-800-788-2464. You can go online and sign up for your players card in advance. Each 100 points equals $1. Please stop by the front desk for important travel information. Baca members pay an administrative fee of $2 to the Baca Center and non-members pay $7, all other fees are paid to the casino.

Day Trips
All trips in the newsletter will be available for registration on the first business day of the newsletter month (i.e. Jan/Feb newsletter is Jan. 2, March/April newsletter is March 2, etc.). | Baca Center Newsletters (PDFs)

Payment is due at time of registration. Members may register one additional person per trip at time of registration. Non-member guests please add $5 to the cost of each trip.

Times and events are subject to change. Day trippers should check in with the bus driver. If a member has a medical condition and must pre-board on the bus, a doctor’s note must be on file with the staff. Parking for an extended or overnight trip is on the lower level of the parking garage.

Cancellation Policy
In the event of a cancellation, a credit for the amount of the trip will be added to your acccount only if:

• The Allen R. Baca Center cancels the trip.
• A substitution had been made from the waiting list to fill your spot.
  • If no substitution can be made and the request is made 14 calendar days or less from the start date of the trip, all fees are forfeited.
  • If no substitution can be made and th request is made 15 calendar days or more from the start date of the trip, a credit for the amount of the trip will be applied to our account or you will be assessed a $25 processing fee for a refund.

A trip $25 processing fee will be applied for all cancellations of Baca Center transportation provided overnight trips. Trips sponsored by outside travel companies will be subject to policies of the travel company.

Participants in wheelchairs that are unable to use the restroom or participate on their own will need to bring along a companion and all fees apply. You will also need to tell the Baca staff of your condition when you register so proper arrangements can be made for use of the lift.
