Recognizing exceptional service and achievement
In 2007, the Fire Chief and the Round Rock Fire Department initiated the Chief's Coin program (initially called the Coin of Excellence). The Chief's Coin provides the Fire Chief an effective means to recognize fire and civilian personnel for exceptional service and achievement.
Uniquely personal in its presentation and tied to the pride and history reflected in the Fire Department's patch, the Chief's Coin significantly contributes to the spirit, pride, morale and cohesion of an organization.
These coins are presented by the Fire Chief or on behalf of the Fire Chief. Since it's inception the following individuals have received the Chief's Coin:
Kimberly Jones - Analyzing and presenting data through maps and figures for the Fire Department
Darwin Shell - Leadership and commitment as co-chair of the Pink Heals Tour
Shane Glaiser - Leadership and commitment as co-chair of the Pink Heals Tour
Michael Boyd - Leadership and commitment as chair of the MDA Fill the Boot
Billy Wusterhausen - Exemplary performance during his tenure as Interim Fire Chief
Karen Johnson - Five-years of exceptional meritorious service as Logistics Officer.
Doug Nelson - Exceptional Commitment in bringing the 2011 Firefighters Olympics to the City of Round Rock.
