The following items should be submitted at the time of application for new single family construction:
- one (1) complete set of building plans,
- one (1) plot plans showing the house foot print, corner elevations of the lot and impervious cover percentage,
- an engineered slab plan,
- ResCheck,
- completed permit application (PDF) and
- all permit fees
The review time for a permit runs 3-5 business days. Once the permit is issued the general contractor will be called at the number listed on the application. Paperwork will be attached to the permit with instructions on calling inspection requests into the Automated Inspection Request System.
After all the required inspections have passed and the house is ready for final inspection, please call our office to check re-inspection fees that might be due. These are fees incurred for having more than two (2) inspections on any one inspection type, and are $50 per inspection over two. These fees must be paid before the 1st final inspection can be performed. If the structure goes to a 3rd final inspection, then an additional $50 will need to be paid each time before any additional final inspections can occur.
Once the house has passed final inspection, permanent power will be released to TXU Electric Delivery and Atmos Energy. Passing final inspection shall serve as the Certificate of Occupancy for the structure.
