City developing new Erosion & Sediment Control Chapter in the Drainage Criteria Manual
The City of Round Rock is currently developing a new chapter to the Drainage Design and Construction Standards Manual to develop erosion and sediment control standards for construction site storm water runoff. This chapter will assist design engineers and contractors in the selection, installation, and maintenance of appropriate erosion and sediment control best management practices (BMPs). It will give guidelines on the most commonly used erosion and sediment control practices for temporary and permanent erosion controls.
This new chapter is required by the Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (TPDES) Permit the City has with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to address storm water runoff from development and re-development construction sites.
We will announce when this new chapter is available for public review and comment. We anticipate public review in the fall of 2010 and adoption of the new chapter in January 2011.
