Enjoy an explosion of fun June 1 - August 4 at your library!
The Summer Reading Program celebrates science and reading with challenges, performances, and prizes during Fizz! Boom! Read!
Encouraging kids read what they want, when they want, is a powerful cure for summer slide (see the research here). We're here to help kids maintain or even boost those hard-won reading skills through:
developing a daily reading habit;
satisfying curiosity beyond the bounds of the school-year curriculum;
discovering new interests.
Connect with our online reading log, win prizes, check out our free performances and programs*, and explore the library's huge selection of great materials in digital and physical formats.
Get to know our friendly staff, and let us help you find materials to delight, inspire, inform, or entertain you.
And there's more! The library is delighted to partner with the Capital Area Food Bank's Summer Food Service Program. Children who live in SNAP, TANF, and FDPIR homes are welcome join us for lunch--please contact any member of our Youth Services staff for more information.
*Special note about programs:
Groups of 6 or more must always call or e-mail to inquire about bringing groups to our programs. Please contact either Youth Services Manager, Janette Johnston (512-218-7002) or the person listed as the contact for the program. We will accommodate groups when possible.
PLEASE observe the age recommendations on the calendar. Our programs can be very crowded during the summer, and we do have programs for all ages.
