The Clay Madsen Recreation Center has an indoor pool available year round. See the pool schedule (PDF) for hours and class times. Pool opens 30 minutes after facility opening and closes 30 minutes prior to facility closing.
The Pool is available for lap swimming, water exercise, open recreation time, water aerobic classes, and other instructional classes and programs. Monthly calendars are also available at the front desk.
DEFINITIONS OF SCHEDULED PROGRAMS:
GROUP AQUA EXERCISE SCHEDULE (PDF)
AQUA POWER: A high intensity class that will challenge your movements and work your cardiovascular system. A great alternative to traditional Group Exercise, but with all the intensity. Cardio, Strength, and Core training combined into each class.
AQUA CORE & CARDIO: This class is a heart pounding, lung expanding, foot stomping, arm swinging, never stop moving, calorie burning, water churning workout that includes strengthening exercises for abs, arms, legs & back with a cardio foundation. This class moves between the shallow and deep ends of the pool.
DEEP AQUA FITNESS (DAF): Prepare yourself for the ultimate “No Impact” workout. We will use selected flotation devices for suspension in deep water and create a challenging aerobic interval workout. Expect powerful moves and full range of motion to improve your strength, cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility. Participants must be comfortable in deep water.
AQUA FIT: A low to moderate intensity workout aimed at increasing flexibility, strength, cardiovascular health, and balance. This class is held in the shallow end of the pool.
AQUA CORE EXPRESS (ACE): Splish, splash, you can tone up your abs. A 20 minute workout to kick that core into shape. Top to bottom, side to side, those abdominals will thank you for so much attention. This class is held in the shallow end. Class maximum is 20.
AQUA TONE: A low impact, moderate intensity class designed to improve strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness while increasing muscle tone and core strength. Participants may modify exercises for their level of fitness. This class is held in the shallow end of the pool.
AQUA ZUMBA: Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief. This is a shallow water class.
AQUA KICKBOXING: Combining athletic drills and plyometric jumps with standard boxing jabs and kicks, this workout will prove that you do sweat in the water. This class is held in the shallow end of the pool.
AQUA CHALLENGE: Push yourself to the limit with a high intensity workout – Aqua Style. This class is for those who have been exercising and are looking for a real challenge to improve & maintain their overall fitness level. This class moves between the shallow and deep ends of the pool.
AQUA FUSION: Combining Cardio, Strength, Abdominal, & Yoga training, Aqua Fusion sculpts & stretches you in a single, solid course. This class is held in the shallow end of the pool.
Birthday Pool Parties
If you have a birthday in the middle of the winter season but want a pool party.... don't worry. The indoor pool at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center is available for a splashing party anytime of the year. Party rental fee includes use of a 24'X19' room for 1 1/2 hours and use of the pool from noon - 3 p.m. on either a Saturday or a Sunday. For more information call 512-218-3220.
