When do I need a Temporary Use Permit or Special Event Permit?
A Temporary Use Permit is required to allow a long-term temporary use, such as temporary buildings or storage during construction or remodeling, or a seasonal use such as a Christmas tree lot. For short-term events such as carnivals or block parties, or anything that involves a street closure, please use a Special Event Permit.
Can I get my blood pressure checked at the Fire Department?
Yes, you can have your blood pressure checked at any fire station from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Do I have to be part of some organization to get a special event, block party or parade permit?
No.
What is Arbor Day?

What can I do if my application for a special event/block party street closure permit is denied?
If the City Manager does not issue the Permit, the Applicant may appeal the denial to the City Council by filing a notice of appeal with the City Secretary within five (5) days after receiving the notice of denial.The City Council shall then hear the appeal as soon as practicable (usually the next regularly schedule Council meeting) and its decision is final.
Can non-citizens get a permit for an event or parade planned inside the city limits?
Non-residents are subject to the normal provisions of the City's ordinance and procedure.
Can alcohol can be available at a special event or block party?
Yes, generally, but you have to follow the requirements of the appropriate agencies, such as the Texas Alcohol Beverage Control Board.
Will the City provide clean up after a special event, block party or parade and will that be an extra cost?
No. Cleaning up after the event is the permit applicant’s responsibility.
Where can I find a Notary Public?
Round Rock Municipal Court offers Notary Public services from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for $6. Also check with your bank or credit union.
