Is there an option for smaller trash and recycling containers?
All residents are encouraged to use the standardized 96-gallon carts.
If an elderly or disabled customer cannot safely move their cart to the curb, Round Rock Refuse will assist by collecting the garbage and recycling carts at a location that's more convenient to the customer - for example, the front or side of the house, or backyard. If the elderly or disabled customer would prefer a smaller container, they may request a 30-gallon trash container and/or an 18-gallon recycling bin.
If you would like to make this request please contact Round Rock Refuse at 512-255-4980.
The City of Round Rock will also determine on a case-by-case basis if it is necessary to provide a smaller container to the customer.
Will customers be able to put bulk waste out with the regular trash pick-up?
Yes. On customers' scheduled pick up day, Round Rock Refuse will collect 1 bulk waste item. Customers can also request additional bulk waste be collected on another day, which will need to be scheduled through Round Rock Refuse. There will be an additional fee for items picked up on a day other than their scheduled pick up day.
What recyclable materials are allowed to be placed in the recycle container?

However, when the market is favorable, the City can receive revenue from the sale of recyclable materials. Any revenue generated from the sale of recyclables could be used to help offset future rate increases or shared with customers through an account credit or rebate payment.
How will landfill rate increases affect the rate to the customers in the future?
The City anticipates that garbage disposal rates at the landfill will continue to increase in the coming years, and the landfill charge is one of the components figured in the rate charged to our customers. The contract for garbage and recycling disposal has been negotiated so that it protects City customers in times of recyclable commodity market downturns.
