I had a minor accident and we exchanged information. What do I do now?
Contact your Insurance Company, submit a CRB-2 (blue form).  The CRB-2 is available at any police department or at Texas Department of Public Safety.

Download the CRB-2 in PDF from the Texas Department of Public Safety
I requested an offense report and only received the first page. I want the entire report, how can it get it?
You will receive a copy of what is public information. If you need the entire report, you must submit an Open Records Request.
I want a quiet study place. Does the Library have any study rooms?
There are many study carrels on the second floor and it is quieter there. Also there are five small private study rooms. They are guaranteed for one hour.
I want to rent a library meeting room. What is the procedure?
The Library has four meeting rooms that accommodate different size groups for all citizens. Rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions, please contact the Library admin office at 218-7005.
If I pay my citation or request defensive driving before my court date, do I still need to come to court?
If you made disposition of your case(s) prior to your required appearance date, you need not appear on your court date. It is, however, your responsibility to confirm that you have properly disposed of your case.
Is Municipal Court open during lunch hours?
Court offices remain open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on council approved holidays.
Is the Municipal Court the small claims court?
Municipal Courts only have jurisdiction in criminal cases, not small claims. Contact your Williamson County Justice of the Peace.
Is there a filing fee to run for City Council?
Yes. Candidates for City Council shall pay a filing fee of $50 or submit a petition in lieu of the filing fee (25 signatures needed).
Is there a landfill in Round Rock?
No. However, the Williamson County Landfill is located in Hutto, at 600 CR 128 (near the intersection of CR 128 and FM1660). The number is 759-8881.
Is there a law for barking dogs?
Yes. A barking dog which disturbs someone either during the day or at night can be considered a nuisance. We recommend that dogs be brought in at night and if it is discovered that they are barking during the day (usually when the owner is at work) the dog may need to wear a bark preventative collar. These collars are inexpensive and available at many pet stores. If the dog continuously disturbs people around it, the owner can be issued a citation.
Is there a leash law for cats?
The City of Round Rock has a nuisance law pertaining to cats. Once a cat leaves its yard it can be considered a nuisance and be impounded. There are several benefits to keeping your cats inside, such as preventing them from being hit by a car, attacked and killed by a dog or coyote, preventing them from contracting a disease (there are not vaccines available for all diseases), or being poisoned by antifreeze. There have also been several cases in which cats have killed bats that tested positive for rabies. Studies have shown that pets that live most or all of their lives indoors live healthier and longer lives.
Is there a leash law for dogs?
Yes. The City of Round Rock has a leash law which states that dogs are to be contained in a fenced yard, tied out, or on a leash at all times. This prevents them from endangering themselves, other animals or the public.
Is there a park in my community?
The City of Round Rock is approaching 2,000 acres of developed and undeveloped parkland.  Please take a look at our Parks and Other Facilities Page to locate a park in your community.  The parks are listed by park type with both park facilities and athletic facilities.
Is there an Ordinance regarding the number of garage sales allowed per year?
Yes. Per Ordinance number 11.424 (d) of the Code Book, one garage sale or other similar activity is allowed every 6 months.
Is there assistance available for first-time homebuyers in Round Rock?
Down-payment assistance is available for income-eligible first-time homebuyers though the Home Ownership Assistance Program (HOAP). Participants must complete a homebuyers education class before applying. Many first-time buyers take the class to familiarize themselves with the home-buying process and to help avoid predatory lending practices, even if they do not expect to apply for HOAP assistance. To inquire about the HOAP program or sign up for a class, call the Community Development Office at 512-341-3328.

Habitat for Humanity is a private, religious organization that helps low-income families purchase a home; contact the Round Rock Chapter for more information at 512-350-7518.
May I mail in my court payment to Municipal Court?
You may mail in a money order or cashier's check for payment of your fines. Make the money order payable to Round Rock Municipal Court. Clearly indicate your name, mailing address including city, state and zip and the case or citation number on the payment. Include your copy of the citation with the payment.

A plea form is provided for your convenience on the back of the ticket. A payment received through the mail without a plea or other indicator will be recorded as a plea of no contest.

We must receive your payment by your appearance date noted on the citation to avoid the issuance of an arrest warrant. You may also pay your payment in person Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
