If You Are Issued a Boil Water Notice
PUBLIC WATER SYSTEM ID # 2460003
Boil Water Information
A boil water notice is NOT notification that the City's Water System is contaminated. When an event such as a water leak occurs and the water pressure drops below 20 psi, the City, as a precaution to ensure the public health, issues a boil water notice and collects bacteriological samples for analysis.
In the event of a Boil Water Notice:
The boil water notice states that water for consumption, cooking and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. This notice is given as a precaution to ensure destruction of any harmful bacteria that may have become present when water pressure dropped below 20 psi. As soon as the results from the collected samples are available, water system officials will notify you and it will no longer be necessary to boil the water.
