Police seek assistance in identifying sexual assault suspect

sex assault suspectAt approximately 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, a woman was walking home from a jog at Caldwell Heights Elementary when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown male near the 300 block of Terra Street. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and attempted to assault her but was unsuccessful. When the victim screamed for help, a nearby resident came outside to help and the suspect fled. He was last seen running north through the neighborhood.

The suspect is described as a white male, 19 to 20 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, approximately 130-150 pounds, thin mustache, suntanned complexion, brown hair, brown eyes and thin athletic build. He was last seen wearing a navy blue pullover hooded sweatshirt with raised yellow or gold lettering on the front, blue jeans and white sneakers.
