Police Department Community Survey Results

As part of its regular accreditation process, the Round Rock Police Department conducted a customer survey in May about the department’s service to the community. In all, 478 people took a few minutes to complete the brief online survey.

Your input helps the Police Department develop and adapt its operations and programs to the evolving needs of the community. Please take a moment to review the results of the survey.

  • Survey respondents overwhelmingly report they feel the Department does a Good to Excellent job controlling crime and responding to the community in general.
  • Most respondents feel safe in most areas of Round Rock, including their neighborhoods.
  • The most important crime and public safety issues reported by respondents are (in order of frequency): residential burglary, drug activity, drunk driving, violent crime, and child abuse.
  • Of those who reported a contact with a Department employee, more than four out of five respondents said (a) the employee did a Good or Excellent job responding to their needs, and (b) rated the fairness of the employee’s actions as Good or Excellent.
