Round Rock Police capture suspects in hit and run, theft

On Saturday, July 20, Round Rock Police arrested two suspects involved in a hit and run and purse snatching near the 200 block of University Boulevard. The suspects, Anthony Hutchins, 36, and Jennifer Taylor, 36, were driving a stolen vehicle. Both were arrested and transported to Williamson County Jail without incident.

At about 1 p.m. Saturday, Round Rock Police Officers responded to a report of an auto-pedestrian collision on University Boulevard.  Witnesses reported that the collision occurred after the female driver stole a woman’s purse and fled the scene in a nearby SUV with a man in the passenger seat.

During the attempt to flee, the vehicle struck the woman trying to get her purse back and ran directly over a man. The woman was treated on scene for non-life-threatening injuries. The man is in critical condition and was transported to a local hospital.

Round Rock Police Officers located the vehicle in the 2800 block of University and arrested the two suspects. The suspects’ vehicle was stolen out of Burnet County.

Hutchins, from Odessa, TX, is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Robbery and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

Taylor, from Marble Falls, TX, is charged with Aggravated Assault with Serious Bodily Injury, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Robbery and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
