Around 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, Round Rock Police officers responded to an auto-pedestrian accident in the 3100 block of north IH 35 (between Old Settlers Boulevard and University Boulevard).

Witnesses reported a pickup was travelling north and veered off the main lanes of the interstate onto the grass median and struck a Texas Department of Transportation contract worker who was picking up trash. Timothy Denerrio Roy, 50, of Austin was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident is under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time. There is no immediate indication that alcohol or drugs were a factor.
