The Friends of the Round Rock Public Library received a grant from Chaparral Women’s Club on May 20, 2011. The Club donated $1,000 to help fund the archiving of the Round Rock Leader newspapers for the library.
The Chaparral Women’s Club and the Friends group support the work the library is doing to preserve the history of Round Rock.
“Past issues of local newspapers become rich historical documents”, says Linda Sappenfield, Public Services Librarian. “Family history researchers and other citizens rely upon Round Rock Public Library to provide access to our town’s unique social history as recorded in the Round Rock Leader.”
Linda and the other Public Services Librarians are available to assist customers with the microfilm on the 2nd floor of the Round Rock Public Library located at 216 E. Main Street. For more information, please call 512-218-7000.
