Mayor McGraw helps kick off Shop The Rock campaign
In an effort to support local businesses, the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce launched its “Shop the Rock” Campaign, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Round Rock Premium Outlets. Mayor Alan McGraw was one of the featured speakers at the kickoff event.
“Shop the Rock” is a multi-faceted, multi-media program developed to showcase Round Rock as a leading retail destination in Central Texas and to emphasize the importance of shopping locally.
“There’s a reason why Round Rock is one of the safest cities in the U.S.," said Jeff Gaddis, Chairman of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce. "That reason is appropriate funding in our Fire and Police departments. When you shop Round Rock retailers, you’re helping to keep our community safe."
A primary goal of the initiative is to educate residents of retail opportunities in Round Rock. When residents shop locally, the money they spend here is invested back into the community to help fund transportation projects and pay for public safety, parks and more. Sales tax revenue also helps offset property taxes.
"Shop The Rock" will also be the launching pad for new and exciting opportunities for the business community. From Nov. 9-15, the Chamber will have its first “Restaurant Week,” a project designed to boost restaurant revenue and highlight Round Rock’s culinary creations.
The campaign will include print, outdoor, radio and television ads and online marketing.
