&lt;p&gt;Several chapters of the General Plan 2020 address issues that were not part of earlier general plans, such as community quality, sustainability, support for older neighborhoods, historic preservation, and redevelopment quality.&amp;nbsp; These are issues that the City Council has identified in the &lt;a class="" href="http://www.roundrocktexas.gov/home/index.asp?page=1554"&gt;Strategic Plan&lt;/a&gt; as critical to maintaining Round Rock as a city of choice, and which residents expressed concerns about in the General Plan Community &lt;a class="" href="http://www.roundrocktexas.gov/docs/2008planningsurvey-results.pdf"&gt;Phone Survey&lt;/a&gt; and last summer’s workshops and focus groups (see previous posts).&amp;nbsp; &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This meting will address community design (corridors), housing &amp;amp; subdivisions, support for older neighborhoods and historic preservation.&amp;nbsp; This information will help to shape the General Plan 2020’s policy recommendations in these areas.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After a short presentation, participants will discuss the following questions in small groups:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;How can we improve the appearance of transportation corridors in Round Rock?&amp;nbsp; Can you name some corridors in Round Rock that are good examples?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Where do you think commercial development belongs on a corridor?&amp;nbsp; What about residential, office, and multi-family development?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;What are the things that you like and the things that you don’t like about existing subdivisions in Round Rock?&amp;nbsp; Please comment on both physical and community aspects.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;What mix of housing types should be encouraged within a single subdivision and how should those types be arranged?&amp;nbsp; If there is commercial development within a residential subdivision, where is the best location for it?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;What types of investments can the city make to improve deteriorating neighborhoods?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;To what degree should the City participate in historic preservation efforts and why?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;To what degree should the City regulate design for alterations to historic structures?&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;
