The wood and logs are in an “as is” rugged condition. In several instances, residents will need to cut and/or split the wood themselves. The logs are available for non-commercial use by Round Rock citizens. Chainsaws may not be used at the Brush Recycling Center, however residents are free to take the wood home to prepare it themselves. Residents need to be prepared to load their own firewood supply into their vehicle. The Brush Recycling Center is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday – Saturday from 9 am – 6 pm and closed Wednesday and Sunday. Call 512-218-5540 for more information.

Well, forgive my lack of lawn care knowledge, but I had no idea! I assumed is was an aesthetic feature. Turns out, mulch can be an effective way to save water and ultimately save you money this summer. We have already seen temperatures breaking record high's and the heat is just going to increase as we get into July and August.

Good news is, the City of Round Rock offers free mulch to the community! Yep, all you have to do is bring your utility bill to the Recycling Center, 310 Deepwood Drive (across from the Micki Krebsbach Swimming Pool), and you can fill up as much as one truck bed full of mulch. If you live outside the City of Round Rock you can still get mulch for only $15 a load (not too shabby).

So go grab some mulch from the Recycling Center and fill me in on what you think.
