Centennial Plaza
Status: Centennial Celebration April 27 www.roundrocktexas.gov/centennial
Project Scope: concrete plaza, performance lawn, areas designed for street festivals, “pillars of the community”, secondary performance stage/shade structure, amphitheater overlook/bat viewing area, improvements to amphitheater, electrical system for street festivals, landscape areas, Brown/Florence Street Improvements, MOC parking lot improvements.

Kensington Greenbelt Improvement Project
Status: Project Completed

Rabb House Redevelopment Project

Project Scope: design and construction documents for the redevelopment of Rabb House (damaged in September 2010 flood)

OSPV Reuse Water Project
Status: Complete
Project Scope: removal/replacement of existing irrigation system valves, heads, etc. to comply with reuse water requirements. Renovation of existing irrigation system at Lakeview Pavilion area, Football Complex, Cricket Field, etc. Upgrade of Maxicom System to wireless controls

Brushy Creek Regional Trail Gap Project
Status: Right-of-Way Acquisition and Regulatory Approval
Est. Completion: Spring 2014
Project Scope: +/- 2.5 miles of Brushy Creek Trail from Sonoma subdivision, across Brushy Creek, connecting to Rabb Park and AW Grimes Blvd multi-use path. Also connects to Greater Lake Creek Trail totaling approx. 7 miles.
Current Project Progress:
R.O.W. acquisition negotiations on-going
Environmental review on-going with TxDOT
100% CD’s to be submitted to TxDOT in early April
Project to be let by TxDOT in June 2013

Whitlow Way and Cricket/MP Field Improvements Project
Status: Construction
Est. Completion: Fall 2012
Project Scope: reconstruction of Whitlow Way, field improvements to Cricket to convert it to a multipurpose field

Lake Creek Park Improvement Project
Status: Design
Est. Completion: October 2013
Project Scope: replacement of pavilion/restroom, playground, site furnishings, parking and addition of trail connections and new parking by Dog Depot
Current Project Progress:
Working on construction documents
Project to bid in May/June 2013

Lake Creek Pool Improvement Project
Status: Construction
Est. Completion: Spring 2013
Project Scope: replacement of pool piping, boiler unit and chemical controller. Additionally, the pool deck with be replaced

Piping and electrical complete, decking to be poured early April

Rock’N River FAC Improvement Project 2013
Status: Bid and Award
Est. Completion: Spring 2013
Project Scope: replacement of poured-in-place rubber surfacing in pool, resurfacing of restroom floors

Purchase to City Manager on February 1st

CORR Facility Landscape Improvements Project
Status: Design and Construction
Est. Completion: Varies
Project Scope: re-design and/or construction of new water-wise landscapes for all City facilities. Design will be completed for each facility and construction will take place as funding becomes available.
Current Project Progress:
PARD crews have already started landscape improvements to the southside of City Hall.
Design and cost estimates complete for all City facilities.
Awaiting presentation to City Manager/City Council.

Mays/Round Rock Ave. Gateway Signs (PARD / Transportation Project)
Status: Design
Est. Completion: March 2013 (design)
Project Scope: design of two (2) gateway signs for Mays (Brushy Creek and railroad bridges) and potentially one (1) for RR Avenue.
Current Project Progress:
Coordination with structural engineer is underway
CD’s are 60% complete
Construction documents underway. Project bid in March 2013.

Mays Street Landscape Improvements (PARD / Transportation Project)
Status: Design
Est. Completion: May 2013
Project Scope: design of landscape improvements along Mays in tandem with streetscape improvements

Bathing Beach Development Project
Status: Planning
Est. Completion: 2014
Project Scope: design and construction of park elements in the Bathing Beach area including Chisholm Trail Crossing Park, BC-Creekside Greenbelt, Bathing Beach and west edge of Memorial Park Current Project Progress:

Brush Recycling Center Building Project

Veterans Park Improvement Project

OSPV Restroom Building Improvements (Soccer Complex and Lakeview Pavilion)

Project Scope: replace plumbing fixtures, partitions, and ceiling at both complexes. Interior painting of ceilings/walls and exterior trim painting.

Lake Creek Trail (RRWest to M.O.C) Development Project

Project Scope: design of trail from Round Rock West Park to Municipal Office Complex

Playground equipment installed, 95% of sidewalk installed, pavilion installed, basketball court 95% complete
Need to install site furnishings, playground surfacing, surface basketball court, and finish remaining sidewalk

Chisholm Valley Park
Status: Construction (90% complete)
Est. Completion: March 2012

Park Amenities: renovation of playground, shade structure, +/- ½ mile of concrete trail, multipurpose rec field, site furnishings (picnic tables, benches, drinking fountains), trees

Current Project Progress
Playground area 95% complete, concrete sidewalks 95% complete, decomposed granite trail is based, multipurpose field is graded, pavilion is installed
Need to pour concrete curbs and install decomposed granite trail, install playground surfacing, site furnishings, install masonry columns on pavilion

Rabb House Redevelopment Project
Status: Design
Est. Completion: Design - Spring 2012

Park Amenities: design and construction documents for the redevelopment of Rabb House (damaged in September 2010 flood)

Conceptual Master Plan is completed, will be presented to City Council on April 10th

Play for All Abilities Park - January 2012 Update

Status: Under Construction (85% complete)
Est. Completion: January 2012

The Play for All Abilities Park is on schedule to open to the public February 2012 with a Grand Opening Celebration. More information on the Grand Opening event will be available soon! The park has a new official address: 150 N. A.W Grimes Blvd. Round Rock, Texas 78664.

Park Amenities: park for children and adults of all abilities, including Large Playscape Pod, Retreat Pod, Rock Band Pod, Sensory Pod, Swing Area, and Village Pod. Each pod was designed specifically with children with disabilities in mind to ensure the pods offered valuable developmental, social, and recreation opportunities for children of all abilities.

Current Project Progress:

90% of concrete work is completed
Playground equipment for Large Playscape Pod, Sensory Play Pod, and Swing Area is installed
Poured-in-place surfacing to be installed
Trees planted
Fence installation to start January

Play for All Abilities Park
Status: Under Construction (50% complete)
Est. Completion: January 2012

Park Amenities: park for children and adults of all abilities, including Large Playscape Pod, Retreat Pod, Rock Band Pod, Sensory Pod, Swing Area, and Village Pod. Each pod was designed specifically with children with disabilities in mind to ensure the pods offered valuable developmental, social, and recreation opportunities for children of all abilities.

Settlement Park

Park Amenities: renovation of playground, concrete trail, retaining wall, wood privacy fence, shade structure, pond aerator, ADA accessibility improvements, trees

Current Project Progress:
Playground curb, equipment and surfacing is completed
95% of concrete trail is completed
Pond aerator is installed and operational

Rock Hollow Park
Status: Construction

Municipal Office Complex (MOC) Plaza
Status: Under Design (delayed due to re-design of Brown/Florence Street Improvements)

Christmas Tree recycling services into the New Year

The City of Round Rock encourages residents to recycle their Christmas trees on Saturday, January 2 at the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center located at 310 Deepwood Drive. Round Rock residents will get more than just a good feeling from recycling their Christmas trees, the City will give away a free tree seedling (while supplies last, Saturday only) to residents who bring their Christmas trees for recycling on Saturday, January 2.

Round Rock residents may bring their Christmas Trees to the Round Rock Brush Recycling Center for recycling during any regular operating day from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday - Saturday.

Residents must remove all decorations, nails, wires, ornaments, tree stands, lights, and tinsel before bringing in their tree to the recycling center. The trees will be shredded into a fine, usable mulch which is free to Round Rock residents for pickup at the recycling center. The mulch can also be purchased by contractors and non-residents for $5 per cubic yard.
