Get Your Mulch

Did you know that mulch retains water, therefore, allowing you to conserve water and save money? Well, forgive my lack of lawn care knowledge, but I had no idea! I assumed is was an aesthetic feature. Turns out, mulch can be an effective way to save water and ultimately save you money this summer.  We have already seen temperatures breaking record high's and the heat is just going to increase as we get into July and August.

Good news is, the City of Round Rock offers free mulch to the community! Yep, all you have to do is bring your utility bill to the Recycling Center, 310 Deepwood Drive (across from the Micki Krebsbach Swimming Pool), and you can fill up as much as one truck bed full of mulch. If you live outside the City of Round Rock you can still get mulch for only $15 a load (not too shabby).

So go grab some mulch from the Recycling Center and fill me in on what you think.

The mulch is free, but I heard its best if you bring your own shovel.
