Register now for the Pat the Roc Skills Academy Ball Handling Camp featuring Pat the Rock. The camp will take place at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center on September 8th from 9:00am to 10:00pm. This camp is for boys and girls ages 8 to 18. Patrick Robinson aka Pat the Roc is known as the world’s best ball handler! Round Rock's 9th Annual 5K for Clay takes place at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center. The event honors Clay Madsen and the Clay Madsen Recreation Center which strives to be a safe place where children and adults can learn the leadership and sportsmanship qualities that Clay upheld in his life which was ended by cancer. The first 350 entrants will receive a 5K for Clay dry fit runners shirt. Register now before early registration ends on August 8th!

Registration Information:
* Youth (17 and under): $18 pre register (ends August 8th); $23 late/on site registration

* Adults (18 and older): $23 pre register (ends August 8th); $28 late/on site registration

Packet Pickup and Chip Timing:
Early Packet Pick up is at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center from Noon to 9:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10. Participants may also pick up race packets on site on event day.

5K for Clay is a chip timed event. Chip timing for the 2012 event will be provided by Cadence Sports. If you do not wear a chip, you will not be timed and will not be included in any results. All chips must be surrendered at the finish line.

Immediately following the 5K for Clay, join us for an Open House, featuring all that Parks and Recreation has to offer. There will be information booths featuring different classes and programs, as well as demonstrations to try out the fun before signing up. There will be door prizes, refreshments and more! You can also take a tour of the Clay Madsen Recreation Center and see the many amenities the facility has to offer. The Round Rock Public Library will also be onsite with information on their many programs.

As part of the Open House, come join Tennis Professional Jack Alsup for a Tennis Play Day and learn all about the U.S. Tennis Association's 10 and Under Tennis Program. Demo stations will be set up for players to try out the equipment and receive guidance from an instructor. This is a free event, but pre-registration is encouraged (*20411). For ages 4-10 years. Parking:
Limited event parking will be located on site at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center. Additional parking will be available at the Shops of Turtle Creek located one block south from the Recreation center. We ask everyone attending the event to always be mindful of safety; use sidewalks and cross walks and be aware of runners/walkers on course.

Spunky Shaylah 5k & Inspiration Walk at CMRC this Saturday!

Join us this Saturday! Register Now! This 1st annual event honors Shaylah Dame and the Shaylah Dame Skatepark. Celebrate Shaylah's passion for life and love by participating in the benefit driven 1K Inspiration Walk, 5K Fun Run/Walk or both. Feel free to show your spunk during the 5K-run with a team, wear a spunky outfit-show your spirit!

The first 300 5K registrations will be guaranteed a Spunky Shaylah 5K shirt. For a small donation, to celebrate the 1K Inspiration Walk, decorate a flag to honor who inspires you. Contact the Clay Madsen Recreation Center for more information at 218-3220.
