City pools open this weekend!

Rock'N River Family Aquatic Center and Micki Krebsbach Pool open this Weekend! Lake Creek Pool opens June 11th!

When temperatures heat up in Round Rock, there's no better way to cool off than taking a dip in one of Round Rock's many community swimming pools.

Anyone hoping to let go of the workweek's worries or let the kids work off some energy can find a great swimming spot nearby. One of the city's most popular is Rock'N River Family Aquatic Center, a 40,481 square-foot park featuring a lazy river, crazy water slides, water playground with water cannons, tipping buckets, and floor geysers. The park also provides lots of shaded areas for guests who want to get out of the sun and relax. Find Rock'N River at Old Settlers Park at 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd. It opens on Memorial Day weekend, and operates from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Friday and Sunday hours are 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Closed on Wednesdays. Admission is $4.50 for adults and $3.50 for children and seniors, with an additional $1 fee for non-residents.

Still another great place to swim is the Micki Krebsbach Pool, a community pool with lap lanes, water slide, lily pad walk and a kiddies' water playground. The pool opens Memorial Day weekend and is open every day except for Tuesdays, when it's closed. The pool operates from 1 p.m.-7 p.m. Admission is $2.50 for adults and $1.50 for children and seniors, with an additional $1 fee for non-residents. The Micki Krebsbach Pool is located at 301 Deepwood Dr.

There's also Lake Creek Pool, which keeps a limited calendar for open-swimming-it's devoted to swim lessons for the rest of the week. The pool features a wading area for toddlers, open swimming and lap lanes. Lake Creek pool is open to the public on select Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m.-7 p.m. on June 11, 12, 25, 26, July 9, 10, 23, 24 and August 6 & 7. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children and seniors, with an additional $1 fee for non-residents. Lake Creek Pool is located at 800 Deerfoot Drive.

The City of Round Rock also operates a year-round indoor pool at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center located at 1600 Gattis School Road. The Pool is available for lap swimming, water exercise, open recreation time, water aerobic classes and other instructional classes and programs. Visit the Clay Madsen Recreation center for full details regarding this pool.

Season Pool Passes:
Round Rock residents who really want to keep cool all summer long should consider a season pass from the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department. These allow full access to Rock'N River, Micki Krebsbach Pool and Lake Creek Pool and cost $75 for children and seniors, $112 for adults, and $225 for an entire family. Additional fees apply to non-residents. Season pool passes can be purchased at the Parks and Recreation Department main office.

Staying cool in Texas heat can definitely be a challenge, but with several great community pools, the City of Round Rock is ready to serve you and your family!
