"Movies in the Park" coming to Round Rock!

Time Warner Cable and the City of Round Rock presents "Movies in the Park" at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy these free family events. Pre-movie activities start at 7:30 p.m. and the movies start at dark.

Summer 2010 Movies:
Friday, June 4:      Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Friday, July 16:      Planet 51

Old Settlers Park Lakeview Pavilion is located at 3300 Palm Valley Boulevard (off of Harrell Park Way, behind the Dell Diamond).

Admission to "Movies in Your Park" is free, courtesy of Time Warner Cable. Parking is available by the Lakeview Pavilion and there is no fee to park. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and picnic blankets in order to comfortably enjoy the movie. Concessions will be available for guests.

Pre-movie activities:
Enjoy games and trivia hosted by Time Warner Cable. Children can enjoy playing at the playground. Bring a volleyball to play at the nearby courts or another outdoor ball or toy to enjoy prior to the movie.

summer fun on May 29!

May 22, 23 (Opening weekend) 12pm – 6pm
May 29 – August 22
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday 10am –8pm
Friday/Sunday 1pm – 8pm
August 23, 28, 29, Sept 4, 5, 6 12pm – 6pm
(Closed Wednesdays)
Admission Fees:
$4.50 adults age 18 – 54
$3.50 children 17 & under, seniors 55+
$1.00 fee additional for non-residents

Open daily from 1:00pm to 7:00pm
beginning May 29 (Closed Tuesdays)

Round Rock the Boat Regatta this Saturday!

Round Rock the Boat Regatta takes place this Saturday, May 15 on the lake at Old Settlers Park. The pits will open at 10:00am and the races begin at noon! Come cheer on your favorite boat/team and see who will float, sink or swim at this family fun event. Contestants make boats out of cardboard and tape and rely on their inventions to keep them afloat as they travel across the lake at Old Settlers Park.
The fastest boats have the opportunity to compete in the finals.

All participants have a chance to win one of the following awards:

• That can’t be made of cardboard! Award
• Titanic Award—Most spectacular sinking
• Fast and Furious Award—Best time
• Who cares about the boat…we look good!
• People’s Choice Award—Prettiest Boat … Doesn’t have to float.
• Tiny Tim—Smallest boat finishing the race
• Big Bertha—Largest boat finishing the race
